• Objective: Evaluate the flammability performance of the sample under BS 7837:1996 for materials used in marquees and other textile structures.
• Test Method: BS 5438:1989 – Fire Behaviour of Textiles.

Conclusion:

• Performance (Clause 8.3):

The sample passed the test, as at least five of the six specimens met the following criteria:
a) The flaming duration did not exceed 5 seconds after removal of the igniting flame.
b) No flames reached the upper or vertical edges.
c) The filter did not smoulder or flame.

If more than two specimens had failed, additional testing would have been required.
